I am pretty happy with this week's page. A little late on the delivery, but I think the extra time was justified. I'm hoping that I can maintain this level of quality-per-page as a baseline, and speed up my execution from this point on.
I know there's some grumbling about the frequency of 1-page updates per week because of this, and yes it does slow down the pace of the storytelling pretty significantly. It's annoying- but I am hoping that by sticking with the higher quality pages, I'll be able to improve my artwork to the point where I can build the pages faster without losing detail.
Pages back in the 40s were done with a looser, less exact style that turned out not to work that well for the comic. I was able to put out a few pages a week- but characters came out looking stiff and strange, and the page layout left a lot to be desired.
So again- sorry for the slowed pace, but I think it will pay off in the end.
